Hello,
I cannot dive, have had 5 ear operations for a perforated ear drum several years ago. But my biggest problem now is that I get ear infections really easily every time I get water in my ear. Apparently i have very narrow ear canals. I tried Aqua Ear drops, but that felt like tipping acid in my ear, extremely painful. I'm desperate to dive, plus my husband has just qualified as an instructor which tempts me even more! I think I'll be able to equalise OK, as i never have trouble flying & my eardrum feels flexible when I blow my nose or anything similar, it is just the infection side of things which worries me. I've heard about Doc's ear plugs, but read they are only good for about 10 metre's depth, which is OK, as any depth is better than nothing. Please has anybody had similar problems & tried these ear plugs successfully, or have any other ideas I can try?
Thanks with fingers crossed....
