There will be 3 of us for sure and maybe a 4th
We are set to book our trip. We will be leaving JNB october 24 as
early as possible. We are scheduled for a 3 day hike at lebmobo hiking
trial on November 2nd. We need to spend november 1st traveling to the
hike. We want to dive in the best mozambique has to offer thinking about
Punta de Ouro, Zavora, tofo area and Pomane from november
25th or 26th depending on drive time to November 1st. We know we can not dive
all locations in our time alotment.Would appreciate any feed back to help us
decide on locations and plan the trip.
1. Reccomend dive shops and accommodations.
2. We want lower cost accommodations.

3. We would like to do 3-4 dives per day.
4. What dive sites do you recommend and what sites can we expect to
see during our stay?

I dived in Tofu - cant remember the name of the centre but it was at the end of the beach rather than 'in town' and is the one with the reasearch centre for mantas and whalesharks.

I believe that this is the cheaper area from the ones you have mentioned and there was certainly some simple and more backpacker focussed accommodation there too.

The diving was awesome.

I remember the dive site called Giants being a good Manta spot - but really it was all fab - the sites can be relatively deep though and nitrox is a good bet.....if you are not certified as AOW and Nitrox then I would strongly advise it.

Diving off Bazaruto Archipelago which is near Vilankulo was great... HUGGGGEE turtles! I think its called 2 mile reef..
There is a great dive centre attached to Baobab Backpackers.. Definitely recommend them and that backpackers if you want budget accomodation!

In Tofo, you dont have to scuba dive to see Whale sharks and manta rays. u can snorkel but I have heard the diving is quite good there, altho i never did it myself!

good luck!
