About diving in Lembeh,

they say in LP that Lembeh is not a good place for beginners because of currents,
as we passed our PADI open water last year and we intend to improve ourselves this year first doing our advanced open water in Bunaken, moreover swimming and snorkeling during five years during our travell all over the world,
i think we could say we are quite good at swimming so what woul'd you advice us ?
Is it so difficult ?

Thanks for the replies.

Not so difficult at Lembeh, in fact I didnt notice any strong currents at all. Not especially deep water either, just very relaxed cruising around looking at amazing macro life. Lembeh is one of the best places in the world for that! I cant see any problem especially if you do your AOW at Bunaken first. Maybe just check when dive conditions are at there best on few diveshop websites?

Perhaps that gave input on the LP, a dive when the east wind, where the currents are strong enough, comes from the Pacific Ocean. But what's the difference, Lembeh, still the best in North Sulawesi.

Have a look at the site of Two Fish Divers. They have accomodation and diving in both Bunaken and Lembeh. I did my Rescue Diver with them in 2007 at Bunaken and then went for 3 days to Lembeh. I also didn't feel much current in Lembeh. The only thing is that a lot of photographers (often DMs or Instructors) come and dive the Lembeh critter world. I've heard that they don't like beginners too much with bad buoyancy flipping around and tossing the sand everywhere :-)
