Dive resort in Puerto Princesa Palawan

1st time to the Philippines. Landing in Manila on Jan 6 2012. Only have 3 weeks there so was thinking i want to get out of Manila right away (fly to Puerto Princesa and get started diving!) since we're more interested in scuba/snorkel and will have a couple of days there before flying out..Looking for a dive resort or hotel near shop (was hoping to find one for about $100 day could b more for good view or if its just one night) in a good location for exploring on land as well..Want to go further North but first wanted to get my boyfriend PADI certified (and myself a refresher.) Would anyone recommend completing the first half of testing in advance (online) to save time for this?? Thank you for reading

PS- Doesnt necessarily have to be Puerto Princesa but we will have flown a good 24hrs when we arrive in manila around noon so needs to be something we can get to relatively easy...and mid day...
