Hi,
I recently found a dive internship with Desert Divers in Dahab and was wondering if anyone has ever dove with them or knows anything about them... The internship costs about 450 euros and includes two months of work, then two months of part time work and courses. Although I'm a bit strapped for cash, this doesn't seem like the best option for me, becasue my entire purpose for chosing an internship over direct payment was to gain experience diving, doing a lot more than the 60 dive requirement for the DM course. I only have an Advanced certificate and I wanted to get as many dives under my belt as possible... so I'm having doubts about this internship. Can anyone help me with information about Desert Divers, or with information about alternative internships in Dahab?
Thanks.

Don't know about internships but we dived with Desert Divers a few years ago including their camel dive safari & they were excellent.

Go to Dahab and ask around. You can start an internship at any time. Spend a few days there before deciding. It is very important to meet your instructor first. You will do a month or two with him/her. Difficult to change if you don't like them or they are not bothered in teaching you.
Desert Divers is in a nice location, nice shop. But it can be a bit too laid back and lazy.
I know many people who have done their working/DMs there. You sit in the office all day and if you are lucky you may get one dive a week. Not joking.
It is also seasonal. Now is very quiet. So a lot of sitting around and not diving.
If you want a laid back/lazy few months then DD will be okay. If you want to dive in and get qualified then maybe not.
