Cheap countries to Scuba Dive in?

Probably the 'Bay Islands' (Utila) just off Honduras. Your looking at around US$300 for Advanced Open Water Cert.

On Koh Tao - your Advanced Course will cost around USD275 and a fun dive afterwards around USD 22.

I got my advanced cert at Celebes Beach Resort, Pom Pom island.

It was really beautiful diving, great relaxed environment and I think a bargain (£300-400 for 3 nights including diving & food) the cert was only a little bit more. We'd typically do 2 dives in the morning, then one afternoon or evening dive (we included one sunset & one night dive).

Philippines - somewhere like Puerto Galera or Alona Beach, dives are around US$25-30 each. Courses also good value.

I just had a wonderful, very inexpensive trip planned to Belize, where I hope to retire. It's the ONLY central or south American country where English is the official language, and 1/3 of the country or more is devoted to scuba diving and other water enjoyment.
