Greetings to everyone. My wife and I are in our sixties and we learned to dive off Tioman last year. Of course we are now hooked. We are returning to Malaysia at the beginning of November and would love to dive again. As relative beginners we were wondering if anybody could advise us where we could get some "easy"diving in Malaysia at that time.
Thank you for any help and have a good day where ever you are.

Your choices in November in Malaysia are somewhat limited. You can go to east Malaysia (Borneo) where there are some shallow, fairly easy dive areas. You can try the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park near Kota Kinabalu, or perhaps go to a place like Pulau Tiga, or further afield at Lankayan or Mataking islands. Others may suggest going to Malaysia's premier diver destination, Sipadan, and many of the dives there are, in fact, gentle, but others are more challenging. In west Malaysia (the peninsula) at that time of year, diving is possible at Pulau Payar near Langkawi, but it's not especially inspiring diving. If you do go to Langkawi, it would probably be better to catch a ferry to the nearby Butang Island group just across the border in southern Thailand. One dive op on Langkawi organizes trips like this, Langkawi Diving and Sport. A good alternative is to catch a one-hour flight from KL to Phuket for some "gentle" local dives here.
