Hi folks,

Does anyone have any recommendations for diving locations where we can dive as a couple, and have someone safely watch over our two pre-schoolers whilst we dive?

Granny & Grandad doesnt work as the ones that are left are not healthy enough to be left in charge of the kids.

Location not really issue. Personal recommendations preferred!

thanks, Z

Here in the area is professional childcare available, so that is an option.

Alternatively, we have a few kids at home, and sometimes we have 1-2 extra while the parents go diving, so that is also an option, but the care is non-professional.

non-professional is ok. we lived in borneo for 6 years and now are in the middle east. it's just a case of sitting and playing with the kids for the few hours that it takes to do a morning's couple of boat dives.

I work at a resort in Roatan, Honduras, and we sometimes have parents come down who'd like to dive, so we arrange a babysitter for the hours that they'd like to go. The resort is called Barefoot Cay (www.BarefootCay.com)- it's a small resort, the dive boat goes out 3 times a day, and the reef is just a few minutes away, so you're never away for long if you feel apprehensive about leaving your children with someone you don't know very well. For the kids, there's a pool and beach. For the times that you're not diving, there's lots of fun activities around the island for children- dolphins, monkeys, iguanas, butterfly gardens, etc.
