Hi, as my first trip outside of the U.S.A. I was thinking of going to Indonesia. But I need to decide which Region to visit. I was wondering if any of you could recommend some good literature on the subject of various parts of Indonesia. Not just guidebooks but also travel non-fiction books or books that look at Indonesian Culture. Thank you for any recommendations.
Hadn't seen this for over 20 years then found it in the cheap Blue Ray pile the other day. Fantastic sound out of the home theater system, they did a great job remastering it. Some amazing performances too, notably Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Neil Young, Bob Dylan (who was relatively coherent on this day) and The Band themselves. Cripple Creek and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down are incredible blasting out of the 5.1 speakers. Highly recommended.
The between song interviews etc by a…
Just did a little bit of surfing about Muse after being introduced to the band via "Uprising" (cool song). I realised that I'd also liked "Starlight" and not known who sang it. They're a good band.
Matthew Bellamy just got voted guitarist of the decade by some magazine, and the riff from "Plug in Baby" got voted best riff.
This is fine and all, but I can only assume that the voters have never heard of heavy metal? We're talking DECADE here.
Not too many out there...Ringo Starr, Levon Helm, and the Night Ranger dude who sang 'Sister Christian'.
Any others?
Ok so Leftfield got announced for Rockness festival this week and I for one can't wait.
I never for one second forgot that leftism is one of the greatest dance albums of all time, but I've not listened to it in about 5 years and now i can't stop! Can't wait for their first show in 10 years.
Anyway folks dig out an old album, cd or mp and give it a listen.
and let me know what it is and if its still as good.
If the OPs hereon are indicative of culture...
Anyway, what do you think of Cannelloni?
This is what gay men mean when they say they love Judy Garland.
