Hi there,

Does anyone know how useful one day (6hrs) travel writing courses are? Quite obviously your views will be subjective but any feedback will be useful. There is one with places for £115 with no refreshements but this seems pretty steep when you can do 6 x 3hr evenings for £345. Is there an awful lot you can teach in one day and what are the actual chances of payback?

I think many of these courses are scams, I do some travel writing and have never taken a course. There are schools and colleges allover that have this kind of program and most of the times all I think someone's making money.

Here, people go to a seminar for a week with a famous writer. they return inspired, but don't publish anything. I have been sent brochures for writing courses in tuscany, on cruises, in france.

Caveat emptor.
