A burning, important question that needs to asked here, is the Chuckster as tall as that well know miget actor of yesteryear, Alan [No legs] Ladd?

Stress, Chuck could make you cry without touching you

No, I get the "joke", to use the term loosely. And I have no personal grievance against Huckabee. His politics and mine are very different, but I think he is a fairly honorable and sincere person, especially for a politician.

But I hate this type of post-modern "double-meta". It's the embodiment of a deeply neurotic world-view. Normally I throw up a little in my mouth and go on, without bothering to say anything about it. But in this case, the process that is being cheapened and meta-parodied -- the election of the American president -- has serious real world consequences. For example, the debt for the Iraq/ Afghanistan wars is now projected at 3.5 trillion dollars. That's $42,000 per family, including my family. Pardon me if I don't laugh.

So you're offended at some politics not being sufficiently straight-faced?

Widespread is a closet Amish.
Now wipe that smile off your face.

I'd rather see this type of tongue-in-cheek humour than the utter bullshit of the usual fake sincerity, or worse - overt attack ads.

That's maybe because you're a young post-modernist.

However, your point is well taken, it's probably just a generational thing.

I associate that kind of meta weirdness with the callowness of youth, so it's kind of disturbing coming from someone who wants to lead the most powerful nation on Earth.

I associate it with having a sense of humour.
Even Hitler probably had the odd chuckle.

But only one testi-chuckle.
