sadley, young folks was ruined by major overkill.
bobby mcferrin was rumoured to be dead? I suppose that is because he was living in mineapolis until recently as creative chair of the minnesota orchestra.

a real oldie was 'sweet georgia brown' by Bones ? c.1947. This became the theme song for the Harrlem Globetroters.

no, I had not. interesting enough, I just watched catch a fire the other day with tim robbins on the life of patrick chamusso. at least three scenes that I can remember were prisoners communicating through some damn impressive whistling and perhaps the root of now wanting to know all things whistling.

Another great tune that lends itself perfectly to whistling, in fact I love playing it in the car for that reason, is Great Big Sea's Billy Peddle. Try whistling in (inhale) and out (exhale) throughout the entire song. Takes a great set of lungs, but it's fun! Just don't pass out if you happen to be driving!

There's some really cheesy power ballad by the Scorpions that has a lot of whistling at the beginning and end. Winds of Change maybe?
