Stardust the music sounds better with you takes me to Ibiza '98. Song was everywhere. Just heard it again for first time in years.
The playing of my music last week took me to my front door: my neighbour's new partner did not appreciate it.
The Europe song "The Final Countdown" reminds me of a crappy pub I was in near Canberra when I was 13. Some jackass put it on the jukebox four times in a row. For years thereafter I thought of Australians generally as bad-hair-band-listening freaks. ACDC didn't help that impression either.
Intentional efforts to associate a song with a moment or a place usually fall flat for me, so I don't collect them really.
Well okay, I do, but many of them are extremely personal, and none of your business.

Aimee, Pure Prairie League - takes me back to the beginning with my ex - it was on when we were driving to pick up his sister at college and we were deciding our future while it played
I get taken back by genre, not songs so much - different times in my life have different soundtracks that move me in different ways but Aimee seems to be a constant by itself
Bruce Springsteen's Dancing in the Dark always takes me back to the beach of Koh Phangan. It was 1987 and before the full moon parties the island became so (in)famous for. Although we did have one at that time. Mmmmm, good memories!
whitney houston - i will always love you---- in the early 90´s reminds me
of a very romantic episode in my life,....... all long gone and thanks to the song never forgotten
