thoughtpolice will not qualify his assertion that you didn't get it, The Wrestler, at all. He gives the impression that he "got it" but doesn't back it up with any substance, not unusual for him.

Well, the misses and I saw it a few weeks ago, and both loved it. One oft the most true to life movies ive seen in awhile. Mickey Rourke is outstanding...Its a story, nothing else. No hidden messages, no Rambo style tough guys, just a story about American wrestling, and a bloody good one at that...

OP is wrong of course - it was a very good film...

It wasn't about wrestling, it was about a man who was a wrestler.

And he didn't die in the movie.

You should think of this movie as a foreign film.

You may not understand the context, but I would expect you to understand the prevailaing human experience.

A man, who may have a brain injury, struggling with the ramifications of his life decisions (eg daughter). I would suggest that this movie is about grief/loss and end of life decision making...more so than the context of wrestling or the setting of america.

Dear oh dear, the OP would disagree with your opinion Ria, remember, that is all it is. Remember your opinion on 'Casablanca' being over-hyped and completly pointless, we all have our opinions don't we?

I'm glad you agree with my superior excellent taste but the fact that you find Casablanca "pointless" as you keep bringing up is just well that's just a bit weird...
