"Nazism was human. Ugly is also human. The audience is challenged, not supplied with answers - what a trite film that would make "
True, but I was speaking about the Reader in the context of the other two movies in circulation now with similar disquieting angles.

I was just speaking of it in the context of itself. I don't think it's fair to lump it in with other stuff that's unconnected.

I guess you mean Valkyrie, but what's the other one?
Anyway, I'm sure I've seen other films made on the Hitler assassination plot.

i think the other one is about a little kid whose father is a high ranked nazi officer, who befriended a jewish kid (hence the kid in stripped pyjama). he was trying to find out if his father was a bad guy & his father probably had some moral dilemma justifying himself to his son. i have only seen the trailer though....

Yes, Valkyrie was one, filled with noble Cherman resistance fighters... In reality, the war was clearly lost and some Germans tried to salvage somwething from the end game-and failed in the first step of that process.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas makes the point that German families suffered too....though the movie puts a gloss on why they suffered.....
