"The Dark Knight"

I was surprised by how unremarkable it all was. Just seemed overcomplicated (the mobile phone thing) and unfocused. The Joker was set up as a great character, but you always knew what was going to happen. Most of the drama fell flat too. Still, better than the first.

The biggest problem was that is was waaaay too long. The Morgan Freeman character and sub-plot could have been cut very easily.

And another thing. Maggie G....where the sex appeal? The first 4 Batman movies all had real babes; Basinger, Kidman, Pfeiffer, Thurman. They had some pizazz, livened things up. They might have been over-the-top characters but it is a comic book story.

On the plus side Ledger's Joker was worth watching and the two ferry boat setup was interesting. I didn't see that one coming.

i went to the 9:30 show and it didnt finish till 10 minutes past midnight! (ie. past my bedtime)

but the acting was as good as you can hope for from an action film
