Good evening, Truckstop,

Here's a huge list, documentaries included.

Seen anything good lately?

No.. not films about beating off, or beating up people.. but the Beat Generation.

Anyone know any good ones?

I have only seen Factotum about the gloriously insane Bukowski, and heard they are making ON THE ROAD into a movie soon (probably shite).

Have any other stories/lifestories of the beat writers been captured on film?

Footage from Gysin's and WSB's escapades, the Beat Hotel, the Dreamachine.
This is but one link I found, I'm sure it's obtainable elsewhere as well.

I quite liked Factotum. There is a film of Junky but I haven't seen it. Any more details about OTR?

I actually didn't like Factotum at all. thought it lacked any sort of real mood and the characters were pretty poorly casted. Also thought the actors were "acting" and not convincing at all.

OTR is supposedly coming out next year. Details are sketchy...

Thanks for the list tzarine..lately seen:

Bela Tarr- Werkmeisters Harmonies (long but simply stunning)
The Dark Knight- Hesitated to watch it.. but not too terrible.. but nothing to shout about.
Lots of Woody Allen.

speaking of Bukowski, there's a pretty good documentary called "Born Into This" that traces his life and career.

there are some douchebaggy parts involving celeb friends of his...namely Bono and Sean Penn....but thankfully that stuff is pretty limited and the bulk of the film consists of interviews with Bukowski himself and those close to him like his wife, publisher, etc...
