much like nick drake being re-discovered in 1993. daniel johnston in 1999 or so and everyone and their friends covering arthur russell last year. (not to mention a small but close knit group listening to lee hazlewood again) I would like to be ahead of the curve and bring back some well deserved but unknown artists.

I nominate ya ho wa 13, batdorf and rodney, shugie otis, john stewart and blue rose.

THAT is all.

Op wrote "unknown artists"

Well they certainly are that, in fact they're so unknown as to be completely unheard of. Talk about anonymous.

There's no problem that can't be ignored if we really put our minds to it.

Shuggie Otis and John Stewart aren't unknown to me. They had hits back in the day, as did Lee Hazlewood.
I think Dobie Gray and Johnny Nash are/were underappreciated, perhaps because they didn't sit neatly in categories

three dog night minus the hits they had. gypsy. heartsfields "shine on". oceans "put your hand in the hand" etc. crap like that.

I still have an LP of Johnny Ashcroft. Anybody remember him? He's with Terry Driscoll, ron Martin, Marie Stringer and Wally Wickham. EMI Records made in NSW.

Twelve great Australian songs, including Gumbalara Jack, Little Boy Lost, Click Go The Shears, The Stockman's Last Bed.
Album's called Little Boy Lost. the song accurately relates the saga of Australia's greatest land and air search. For four days and three nights in February 1960, william stanley, an Aboriginal tracker, 5,000 people and seven aircraft seaarched the rugged New England Ranges of NSW for a four-year-old farm boy, Stephen Walls- the Littke Boy Lost. they found him alive and well.

I just found this, it gives me goose bumps every time I hear it and yes I cry:

I quite liked going to Eric Andersen's concerts in Pomme d'Eve, a small acoustic venue in Paris, in 2005 & 2007.

Peter Case deserves to be discovered but probably never will be.
