What do you think of the new format of CBC Radio 2?

I'm glad to see more world music, but there's way too much Latino stuff zinging around for my liking and I am going to miss the program "Disc Drive".

I've just started to listen to it as a replacement for CKUA of which I am/was a big fan (I don't know if the format slowly shifted or just my listening habits/times changed but all I seem to get from CKUA now is endless classical music and boring discussions).

The impression I have is that CBC2 is trying to be like CKUA was (i.e., lots of different programming for varying musical tastes). The jury is still out for me.
For Disc Drive fans Jurgen Gothe has a new show on CBC2 on Sunday from 5 to 6.

They have copied the successful format of CKUA, except for the part where the taxpayers pay for CBC and CKUA is supported by listeners.

Harju, I have not noticed any change in CKUA, but I listen to it generally in the daytime when it is almost always excellent. I also find myself trying to find the many random time slots of the itinerant DJ Baba, who has the most eclectic taste imaginable. Big CBC supporters often hate CKUA, the whole concept that quality radio can be self supporting rather than funded from the MotherCorps endlessly bountiful teat causes them to short circuit/panic.
