I have to admit that I'd kinda given up on Massive Attack. Their first three cds were brilliant, then they slid away from my grasp into moody film track music and dark, brooding nonsense.

So on Monday their new album 'Heligoland' was released. Expecting more disappointment, I downloaded it. And it's brilliant - I can't stop playing it. The guest singers are back - Damon Albarn, good ol' Martina Topley-Bird and Horace Andy and Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star fame amongst the collaborators. Good to know that the Bristol boys still have it in them to bring out some fine and original music.
