How about this for a confidence inspiring remake?

Rossam:
Sounds like your not a fan of the horror genre, having not been to see a horror film in years.
Do you think that one should be a fan of the genre in order to give a review?

I'm thinking....I really don't like musicals. Saw Chicago and thought it was lukewarm crap. Should I leave the review of subsequent musicals to those that love/understand the genre?

Maybe I'm thread jacking here, but that thread about The Day the Earth Stood still got me thinking about genres of movies and those that love that genre being more accepting of cheese in that specific genre.

I wasn't slating the horror genre; what I meant from my first post was that I'm not into remakes for the sake of remakes and I was actually defending the new friday the 13th film by saying it looks ok (some of the reviews so far seem to indicate it's a good slasher but nothing ground breaking) and that it's not sacreligous (unoriginal maybe) to reboot a franchise that was made up of bad sequels. I used to love the old hammer horrors and there are a couple around now that I might try to catch.
