Yeah, saw that too - apparently there's another remake of the texas chainsaw massacre coming along which I reckon has to be even less imaginative......

It's not about imagination, it's about bums in seats. I predict this movie will make money for its investors.

You've been suckered in then, by the sounds of it. The advertising guys will be happy ...

Could very well be crap, haven't went to a horror film in years. I wanted to see the spanish film .Rec (which was remade as Quarantine) but missed it and I also missed the Swedish film Let the Right one In (remake due next year).
Like I said I'm not a fan or a remake for the sake of it but let's face it the original Friday the 13th sequels were smegma, I have a feeling this will be better than the standard fare that's going these days. If it's crap I'll come back and eat crow.
On the subject of remakes; I recently saw the original version of Insomnia which Christopher Nolan remade recently with Al Pacino and Robin Williams, in this case I actually preferred the remake as I thought they beefed up the story a bit.

But this ISN'T a sequel, is it ?

It's a remake of the orginal film.

It's not a remake of the original, in the original Jasons mother was the killer. it's like Superman Returns; a sequel ignoring previous sequels if you kow what I mean. Here's a review. What I thought it would be like. A decent horror but not mould breaking stuff.
