Just, just returned from Slumdog and hated it to the core.

Not having been to India, I had heard this movie will make you want to go or go back. No way do I want to go now.
Already living in a developing country, going out of the cinema down the road and into a sticky compound toilet without a seat, running water or paper was a huge relief from 20 minutes of this film.

I seem to be the the only one, everyone else seems to have enjoyed this piece of crap.

transfer, everybody knows that Oscar Academy nominations are based on political reasons, not on artistic values of a given production, otherwise Kate Winslet would never get a best actress thingy, becaause watching her in the reader was like watching some sort of comedy show parody where all of the sudden everybody stops acting, looks into camera and starts laughing along with the public.
there's no way i am going to watch vicky christina barcelona, he's never been funny or amusing or interesting to me, this guy, but the past 10 years of his artistic production is some sort of parody genre, too. i always wonder why independent cinemas keep on showing this crap when there are so many better movies to show.

Man On Wire is smashing.

I also liked The Wackness, although not really for anything more than it made me nostalgic. Coming of age drama, if you've come of age you might like it. Great '90s soundtrack.

The reader is about naked, shaggable Nazis.

Thank you ola for the woodster comments. The last time I said something negative about the overrated lech, I was attacked by his supporters.

I didn't think "The reader" was a great film - but the discussion which arose form it was though.

I loved "slumdog" though.

The women in the defendant row in court weren't very shaggable, tzarine. Of course it's a big coincidence that the only good nazi was good looking, and a owner of the rights to film the book holder's wife who happened to have a pair of best looking natural tits in showbiznis.

Frost/Nixon: better than I thought it would be, both lead actors are very good. I learned a fair bit about an important moment in US political history.

#16 -- You may have learned things that never happened, though. For example that middle of the night phone call was fictional.

#17, I imagine quite a few things in movies are fictional.
I still enjoyed it overall.

Slumdog was the last one seen on the big screen. Not the feelgood movie it's been made out to be, but interesting. Rumour has it that one of Danny Boyle's next movies could be Bond 23...
