This double DVD doc features a hardy German couple as they traverse virtually all the Earth's deserts by motorbike. These two veteran travelers seemed to have shot all footage themselves and the visuals are stunning. A Brit does the subsequent voice-over. The sights are rare (Algerian outbacks, Uzbek fiery craters, Himba tribes), the experiences authentic---some of their misadventures are shown unedited. Good for them, I say! If you have a thing for deserts, social/physical geography, motorcycles, tribal custom or the great outdoors, then this is the one for you. The husband, Michael Martin, also published an accompanying stills foto book. Seems they were one of the last to visit Iran's Bam ruins just before that terrible earthquake.

I am done. The end.

zebec, after reading this post I ordered it for The Man as he has an addiction to travel by motorcycle shows.

He was impressed that I even knew of this DVD as he hadn't heard of it--I scored some major points by getting it for him--so thanks!

As a long time biker I'm a bit ashamed I've never heard of this either. Thanks Zebec.

Cheers,
Terry
