Thought I'd share some exciting news with the rest of the "Culture Vultures" - Cirque du Soleil's Delirium will be shown in movie theaters this August (only for four days - the 20th through the 24th). All of Cirque du Soleil's productions are amazing, albeit rather pricey, so I think it's a wonderful idea to open it up and make it more accessible to the public. I hear tickets are going rather fast because of the 4-day stint so my friends and I have already reserved tickets . I suggest if you're interested you do the same.

Thanks for this.

They did a 3D Imax one that was fab.

This is my signature.

I've seen a couple of Cirque shows in theaters built for the production, which makes it hard to imagine it would translate well to a small screen.
But.... they are masters of staging, maybe it would work.

I just read that M. Night Shymalinglong is directing so it should be good.

I never caught the ones on tv - though I can imagine seeing it on the big screen - or even Imax - would be especially impressive. Of course it wouldn't be like the live performance - but nor will the ticket cost! :0)
