Interesting why? An old guy who never really had much of a voice in the first place, who really isn't politically relevant and hasn't been for years. He was a symbolic icon associated with what went on in the 60's but over the last years not so much.

I'd rather watch paint dry.

It would probably sound better.

well based on that it wouldn't be interesting at all.

It'll be kind of a bummer if Al Franken loses....

"sucking through the 80's and 90's" pretty much describes 20 years of irrelevance. It is easy to be an opportunistic politico when you've pulled down millions over your career all the while trying to be the ever 'edgy' folk beatnick.

20 years of relevance, followed by 15 years of irrelevance, followed by 10 years of relevance again.
Not a bad career compared to ...well, just about anybody.
You can hate his music and resent his wealth or influence on popular music, but he is undoubtedly the greatest American songwriter ever.
When I get the opportunity to see a living legend, I take it. And I doubt it is 'millions' pulled down, more likely hundreds of millions. Do you dislike him because as a professional musician he has also been a commercial success much of the time, successful enough to do what he wants when he wants?

Thought- This may be one of those we need to disagree on. I grew up during the early days of his career and have watched him over the years. I guess I just don't get it. No reason to make a huge deal out of it.
Agreed he's had a long career, made a ton and a half and no I don't resent his wealth. greatest American song writer ever? Not sure about that. I don't dislike him because he's a professional musician. I actually respect many professional musicians.
Again it is probably because I don't get why he's been so popular over the years.

"Again it is probably because I don't get why he's been so popular over the years. "

That should be the easiest bit: it is because he writes great songs, songs that are covered by many, many excellent musicians. I do understand why people don't like his style, but don't get how his talent is not seen or acknowledged.
Not the greatest Americn songwrieter ever? Name another then..... Woody Guthrie was great, but not in Dylans league.....
