Fillums I’ve seen over the last 2 weeks :-

No Country For Old Men - 6/10. FAAAAR more overrated than The Dark Knight, spoilt too much by the ending.

3:10 To Yuma - 9/10. Gripping & tense; best Western made since Unforgiven that I’ve seen.

Stalingrad - 7/10. Reasonable account of an ‘orrible time; shame it was dubbed though.

The Machinist - 7/10. Really good and creepy/odd, but spoilt a little by the slightly clichéd ‘twist’.

There Will Be Blood - 8/10. Well done, interesting; DDL was good.

Brenda Bristols & Her Juicy Jugs Of Joy - 10/10. Good as ever; quality prevails.

The ending was brilliant.

The Dark Knight? Hm.... I haven't seen it yet (and probably won't). How did you manage to get it into one line with No Country For Old Men?

NCFOM - pure brilliance & the ending was brilliant.

Yuma - overrated, predicable, unrealistic feel & just boring.

The Machinist - totally brilliant & indeed creepy/odd, had no idea before I watched about the ‘twist’ & even though I'd figured it out I thought it was great.

There Will Be Blood - another brilliant film. DDL is just awesome.

Dark knight - instantly forgettable, too long & too ott (& not in a good way).

So, what was so brilliant about the ending of NCFOM, seeing as how they totally moved the shift of the narrative away from what they'd been doing for an hour or more then ?

I'm curious, as nobody has yet given me decent explanation. Just seemed like they got bored with following it. But I'm sure there's more to it than that ....

So, still no explanation then, to show me why I'm wrong ...

That told me.

Another big fan here, including the ending, which was killer. I rarely see movies twice, but I liked it even more the second time.

There was a really great thread about it here right after it was released. Lots of excellent comments.

Terry

Can't be arsed. The pretentiousness of any 'explanation' would probably turn my stomach anyway ..

NCFOM - One of the best films I've seen in a looong time. Great ending, even though it does not conform to your
average, run-of-the-mill Hollywood ending, which, perhaps some viewers crave. Surprise...
Made me want to read more of Cormac McCarthy - Blood Meridian was superb, not to mention watch out for
more Cohen films - brilliant directors.

OP is clearly a lazy thicko, which explains why they like films like Tellytubbies the movie! Hahah!
