Thanks to Srs. Scott and Cronenberg for a couple of great experiences at the movies recently.
It's a good thing there are still great directors alive and around. True cinema.

I'd agree with half of that. Eastern Promises is likely Cronenbergs best ever, and produces a truly chilling and complex villain in Viggo Mortensen. Armin Mueller -Stahl was also very good. Well worth seeing- at the theater.

American Gangster left me kind of..... blah. I know Denzel Washington is a Big Marketable Commodity now , but it just didn't grab me at all. It's not terrible mind, but I'd wait for the rental.

i'm just back from seeing the last James Gray movie, can't remember how it's called, but it's very very good.

i found Cronenberg's last film sort of empty. i expected something more catching. Acting is OK, not particularly great either.
