I will be staying at Breaks beach resort near Port Villa and at White Grass Resort in Tanna in July. I hear that there is a surf break out the front of Breakas. Does anybody have any good info about surfing in Vanuatu? I am an intermediate level bodyboarder. Any info would be great. I have looked around the web but there is not much to be found.

Im arriving in Nadi late afternoon on the 2nd of Aug and need to book one night on the mainland before heading off to the islands in the morning at 8am. Anyone have any recommendations for a hostel bed for one night in nadi?

Pref somewhere where I can go and catch the boat easily from in the morning.

I am heading to Rarotonga in September on my own. Not sure on where to stay must be cheap, but don't want to get bored so need to be somewhere i can meet people. Plus i want to be able to head to town on occassions too.
Have kind of got stuck between Veras and rarotonga backpackers.
Any suggestions on which i should choose.

A few questions. I am thinking of booking beach comber, so what I am looking for is: What is the bet way in getting too the port from aairport?
Would you recommend buying a weekly pass on the ferry as I might go to a few Islands? It doesnt really state it but the hostel in beach comber, is food included. Thanks again

I'm sailing the Pacific and planning on arriving in New Caledonia in November, where I would like to fly to Spain (preferably, but any european city will do) to visit my family, returning to Noumea after Christmas to continue my trip.

I'm trying to find reasonable flights but it seems like the 1700 euro fare is the cheapest I can find.
Ideally, departing New Caledonia around november 12th, returning anytime after dec 25th.

I'm a Canadian citizen travelling from Detroit, USA to San Fransisco to Nadi, Fiji to Auckland NZ in the fall.

I am staying 5 nights in SF then flying to Nadi and staying with a family friend in the Yasawas for at least 2 weeks. I don't know exactly how long I'll stay but probably no longer than 1 month then off to Auckland. I'd really like to keep my plans open by not purchasing a ticket from Nadi to NZ up front and buy it when I decide my exact departure date.

Me and my girlfriend are planning a rtw trip, out planned route currently includes 2 weeks landing in rartonga.

We have only really added this destination cause we've seen amazing photos of the islands and they look as close to a beach paradise as possible. However since planning the route we have hear mixed reports about them - mainly due to price.

I've spent the last couple hours browsing the posts about Fiji - thanks for sharing your wisdom!

My husband and I will be in Fiji as a wrap up to a month of backpacking in NZ. We arrive on August 9 and depart late on August 13. Our priorities are R&R, beaches, sand and sun, and maybe some snorkeling or cultural kinds of activities. We don't want to stay in resorts full of drunken partiers. Our budget for this part of the trip is around $1000 Canadian and we'd like to stay somewhere…

We would like to travel to any of the islands East of Alatau. We read that Starships does some transport there. Does anyone have any information on timetables etc.? We are thinking of about travelling three days from and to Alotau, staying on the ship and just quickly visiting the islands the ship stops at.
