I am going to Fiji with a few friends in December 07-January 08. I will be there for a full month and want to do a wide variety of things. Things that really interest me are skydiving, island hopping on a small boat/kayak, visiting many deserted islands, meeting locals, or anything else adventurous. I am not too interested in doing the resort/tourist type things and I am also on a budget(not a really tight budget but cost will be a consideration). If anybody has done a similar trip and…
Hello again! We have booked our stay at Octopus and are working hard to plan the rest of our trip. The other concern I have is that we are traveling during the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Should we plan to stay at a resort on Christmas to make the most of our time there (I don't want to be stuck in a hotel in Nadi with nothing to do!)? What kinds of closures or restrictions can we expect on those days (transportation, food, etc.)? Thanks again!
Hi, We've just returned from New Caledonia where a tent surely came in useful Is it possible to camp in Vanutu (except for Tanna) and has anyone done so lately?
Do facilities exist or is it a question of 'asking at the guesthouse and being shown a piece of lawn'?
Thanks!
Hi all,
Husband and I are going to Fiji in Oct and plan on hiring a car at Nadi and driving around the island and just stopping when we feel like it. Have done the usual google search for cheap car hire but cant find anything cheap. Does anyone know of a local firm that hires cheap cars?
thanks
Having read some of the postings regarding Air New Zealand and Air tahiti Nui am I right in assuming we can no longer visit both destinations without going either back to Auckland or LAX first? or is their still a flight connecting the two?? Up until last year we flew from LAX to Raro and Tahiti and back on Air New Zealand connecting to/ from London has this all changed? Thanks
this is again me, can anyone who is already in Samoa tell me what the wheather there is like?
maybe stupid question, but last time when i traveled to Fiji i brought a few warmer clothes that I had not had to take with me, and which i eventualy left in a hostel. This time i wanna do some middle-range hiking. Is it necessary to bring such stuff as trousers, light jumper and even a jacket?
Period september-october
thank you
My brother is getting married in Vanuatu at the end of November, but I have just read the LP which says that November is the beginning of cyclone season and Vanuatu gets hit by '2-3 cyclones a year'?!! Is this right? Does this mean we are likely to be stuck in our hotel rooms for two weeks?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Does anyone know if there's a problem to go by PMV from Lae to Goroka? Any road condition problems?
Thanks.
I want to go to Fiji next year and work as a diving instructor more then anything. . . but what's the situation? is it safe? what areas are safer?
Calling all experienced Pacific Island types...
On the way home from NZ next April I'm toying with making a stop on one of the Pacific Islands. The options are Vanuatu or Fiji. I've heard plenty of good things about Fiji but have read that Vanuatu is beautiful and laid back. I'll be arriving on my lonesome so am wondering if Vanuatu is more of a couples destination or if I'll still find it easy to meet other travellers there.
So what are your thoughts if you had 10 days to spend in either…
