Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

When traveling through this region is it easier to book flights from home or should we wait until we get there? We are thinking about traveling between Tonga, Somoa, Fiji and some other islands before going to Indonesia.

Myself and a group of friends are travelling to Fiji over summer and have about a week together as a group. Taveuni is looking like a great option but the Yasawas have also been suggested a number of times. They look very beautiful but several of us don't like resorts and are fearful that resorts and party/backpacker scenes will be unavoidable in the Yasawas. Is this the right impression or are there good relaxed places that 'melt' into villages and local life a little more? Waya was looking…

I am going to Fiji as part of an ATW trip. My husband and I are trying to be pretty frugal with out trip but still want to experience some of the amazing, underwater beauty. Do you have any insight in budget accommodations with or near scuba operations? It would be fun to surf there too, even though we are pretty novice. I haven't had a chance to really research the area so I am not sure where we should go. We will be there for 6 days (Jan 2-8). I appreciate your words of wisdom!

a few questions: Suva to Taveuni. Are there daily ferries? Time, cost etc.? Are there daily flights? Time, cost etc.?
second: I may have an extra day or two to surf. Anyplace on or easily reached from Viti Levu (or Taveuni) to rent a surfboard and catch a few waves? Thanks

After a couple of fruitless visits to travel agencies (are there any agents out there who've actually been to NC?!) I would really love to get some advice from the thorn-tree experts!

My boyfriend and I have two tickets to Noumea (for January) and the first three nights of our accommodation sorted. What we'd really like to do next is book a couple of nights budget accommodation on another island (Ile des Pines or Loyalty Islands).

Well, I am leaving for Tonga in six days are arriving there around 6pm local time on Saturday - but thats about all the organising I have had time to do.... Slack I know.

We are a couple who have 1200 Pa'Anga each to last us the 7 days - and are after a relaxing/rewarding/adventerous 7 days. A time to have some time together and see allot.

I plan to have a 15 days trip in Fiji next March,

I'm not from visa-free country, so I need to get a visa for fiji.

I googled some websites, just got the application form.

I dont know how to pay the application fee(I'm wondering if I can pay it via visa card)

and the postal address to mail my application materials.

Does anybody have the visa-prepared experience? please give me some advice.
