USA today had an article last week saying that Dengue fever has been reported in F.P. We're considering a trip there in January, but my wife is pregnant, and Dengue is a real problem for the baby.
So Does anyone know about this? has there been a large or small amount of cases? And which islands have had incidents?
I have some concerns about security of my belongings in Fiji. Myself and my boyfriend are stopping in Fiji for three nights on the way back from NZ in february(Obviously I am aware we won't have time to see fiji-but we just want to relax on a beach and do some snorkelling-maybe a day of island hopping). I am travelling with my laptop and I want to stay somewhere that my laptop, passport ad tickets are secure while I'm out for the day. I am not a paranoid person, I'm not suggesting fiji is not…
Hello,
We are travelling to PNG next year (2008). We want to plan our trip so we can visit a festival in the month of May or early June.
We read about TUMBUNA SINGSING , THE PNG COFFEE FESTIVAL and MILAMALA YAM FESTIVAL.
We would like to find out when these festivals are taking place in 2008. We tried to contact the PNG tourism board, but we got no reply.
Hotels in the festival areas are not too helpful either. We need this info in order to be able to buy the necessary plane tickets.
Can anyone…

I'm going to be in Papeete (staying at the Sofitel Maeva Beach) for Christmas 2007 and wanted to know if there are any celebrations we should keep an eye out for or if shops/supermarkets will be closed 25 and 26 December.
Cheers, M
Hello! I'm planning to go to Fiji in February or March next year, but I have heard this is raining season in Fiji. Has anyone been there during these months? How bad was the rain? Is it a good idea to go there then?
And I have got another question; what would be a good time to stay in Fiji? I was thinking about two weeks. I'd like to see a lot of the Islands, but I don't want to spend two weeks just lying on the beach. What would be best?
Thanks!
Linneke
I'm going to volunteer in Madang for 6 months, does anyone have advice for what I need to bring with me? Main things I have so far are DEET, doxycycline, a mask and snorkel, and just the regular personal items and clothes. Looking for other suggestions, or any other suggestions for small items I can bring to donate to local organizations.
I'm thinking of going to Palau, as cheaply as possible. Has anyone else tried? How much did you spend in a week? Is camping possible (at official sites or random places?).
Also, what about cycling? I would happily tour the island on my bike... is this common? possible?
Hi,
I plan on heading to Naviti on the flyer but the only prices I can find are for the passes. Does anyone know if it is still possible to buy individual tickets or if you have to buy the pass ? Also wondering if the prices for the flyer are the same in Fiji as buying in advance or if you can save a few bucks buy buying them on the spot.
Thanks in advance...
