hi

We are thinking of going to Fiji late December 2013 to mid January 2014 for 14 days.

I would like some suggestions on where to go for the three of us [ including a 15 year teenager daughter] on resorts, islands etc., for a relaxing time, near a beach where we kick back with a chance to mix with the locals and shop.

Thanks in advance

Hey there,

We are two people who want to spend a week in one of the above mentioned islands. As we haven't been to any of them, we wanted to ask for some helpful advice.

We are currently in NZ and found some cheap flight deals for the end of November to these islands. We both will be happy with cheap accomodation. The most important criteria would be: The option of diving (not to expensive), good/cheap ways to get around (maybe also to other small islands), eventually surfing and scenic…

I'm hearing the situation is not very good and can actually get rather dangerous especially after sunset? Is the simple answer take a taxi for any longer trips after sunset quite valid? How about if you're just sitting somewhere, will they come to you?

Or is it more like, yes, plenty of those around but no need to worry too much about them. I've got some experience and while nothing too dangerous some unpleasant encounters. I'm not sure if I want to walk around with a stick either.

Hi,
I'm an American hoping to apply for a Working Holiday Visa to Australia. It's always been my dream to visit Australia (and people joke I won't come back, if only that were possible, lol) and over the course of many years every attempt has fallen through, notably, trying to study abroad. Low and behold, I discover the Working Holiday Visa, however I am pressed for time. One must be between the ages of 18-30 to apply and I turn 31 in November as well as they only issue so many a year. I am…

I'm off to Rarotonga next weekend for a week. I'm staying in Muri Beach. I'm looking for recommendations for restaurants, markets, locally made souvenirs, any nice walks/hikes, any other tips. I wont' have transport but may hire a scooter for a couple of days.

Thanks

Hi,
I´m doing a trip to the South Pacific next summer.
Unfortunately only 5 weeks. Will go to: Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Solomon and Vanuati.

But - in those 5 weeks, where should I spend most time?
I am more into adventure and not so fond of touristic places.

Your idea on this would be most welcome!
Erik

Hello

Given that I have around 10 days for island-hopping in the Yasawas, which places would you recommend as must-sees ?

Thanks
