Hi!

I understand, from reading reports, that it would not be easy to get around in Papua by public transport. Will heari about it is best to have planned throughout its journey from home or whether it is fairly easy to book flights on the way?

Hi,

It'd be great to get anyones views..

My girlfriend and I (living in the U.K.) are looking at a 3 week holiday to the Cook Islands or nearby (possible island hopping but mainly in the cook islands) next year towards the end of July.

I think the idea is to try and be kitesurfing for 1-2 weeks and chilling for other week. we are only really beginners (just about getting up and riding for about 20m) at the moment but hopefully that will change by next year.

I was wondering if anyone had any…

Round trip PNG

Hi!

My friend and I hope to go to PNG august 2014. In this connection, we could use a little help. We have 4 weeks to travel around in.
We want to go out and meet the locals / meeting tribal, hiking, out to dive / snorkel, see some animals and island hopping. At the end of our trip we would like to end on a lovely beach where we can relax.

Are there any that can make a suggestion for a route? We would also like to hear about things we need to stay away from and of course good advice and tips.
We…

I posted two videos of swimming with the whales in Ha'apai this September. We also spent a week in Vava'u. I think between thew two spots, Ha'apai was the better choice for swimming with the Humpback Whales. All the whale sounds are real and recorded with the video.

Back in 2001 I climbed Mt Wilhelm and recently I went through my slides and scanned the photos. For those interested I uploaded the photos and trip report on my site http://www.amardevsingh.com/travel-expeditions/mt-wilhelm/

To begin with. Solomon Islands are not a backpacker country but it is possible to live cheap if you know your way around, for an example with Couchsurfing and local hosts.

Visas for up to 3 months are free for most nationalities, especially from Western Europe, North America etc. The end of the valid date of your visa, is given according to your return/onward ticket out of the country. The immigration officer simply asked me when do you fly back and I told him the date but didn’t need to show…

Hi guys,

So I have this dream and it involves travelling on a ship or a boat across to the Pacific Islands. My idea would be to take a cargo ship or other commercial vessel. I'll be in New Zealand so I figured I could start from either Auckland or Wellington ports. Does anyone know if this is at all possible, and if so, where is the best place to begin a search for suitable carriers/vessels? Is there a better port to begin, such as Singapore for example?

Would really appreciate any…

We are going back to the Pacific Islands after loving Munda and Tetepare in the Solomon Islands on our last trip 8 years ago. Got a local canoe and went out snorkeling on our own every day in nearby house reefs. Sometimes the local captain would take us around in his motorboat. We love the people and culture.

We'd love recommendations of similar places with culture and easy-to-get-to snorkeling in some of the other islands and provinces.
