Hi all,
I live in Australia and am keen to do a week of diving during my October holidays - we're looking for crystal waters, sandy beaches and coral reefs. We've done plenty of diving in SE Asia (especially Philippines and Indonesia) and are looking to give the Pacific a try.
We've been thinking of Vanuatu - does anyone have experience of diving there? How was it? Is there anywhere you'd recommend in particular? Somewhere better than Vanuatu? Either way, it has to be (more or less) easily…
I am a first time visitor to Fiji and will be staying on the Coral Coast for 1 week to attend a wedding. I was wanting suggestions of places to visit and things to do in the vicinity. I don't want to be stuck at the resort for the entire week. Can anyone suggest the best things to do whilst there? I will be with my partner and 15 yr old son
Hi! My girlfriend and I are travelling to Polynesia in may. We would like to take a boat or a ferry from Papetee to Bora Bora. Is that at all possible, or do we have to take a plane? Has anyone here any experience taking a boat to Bora Bora? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:)
I was keen to go to Yasawas right about now but have seen the weather man says it's been typically cloudy and rainy with high seas. Can someone there now or just been there please give me a on ground update on how its been, not just how the weather man has said it might be. Cheers, C.
Hello all,
I am currently a university student who will be traveling in PNG from August 13 to September 1, and I would love to hear advice and or if anyone will be overlapping with my dates, as I would love to combine my trip with others.
So far my plan is as follows:
August 13-15: Alotau (Scuba diving)
August 15-17: Mt. Hagen for the Cultural Festival
August 18-19: Climbing Mt. Wilhelm
August 21 - 26: Upper Sepik river journey with Joseph Kone
August 28 - Sept. 1: Rabaul / Kimbe Bay (scuba…
Hi there all!
My husband and I are in Honiara having a rip-roaring time staying with my uncle. He is taking us (along with a couple of his friends) to Nughu resort on the Floridas for the weekend (Leaving Fri or Sat if this rain doesn't clear up beforehand), until Monday morning.
We (2 people) have booked to stay at Serah's Lagoon Hideaway (Malaita) from Monday night.
Can anyone let me know the best way for us to get to Auki on Monday morning. Is it possible to go directly from Nughu to…
My father passed away in September, and he asked that some of his ashes be spread in the South Pacific as he spent a good deal of time living and working on some of the islands. We were hoping to take his ashes to Tahiti. Is this possible? Who can I contact about that? I've tried emailing the local French consulate and have an email into the French embassy in Washington DC, but have had no response and have not found much on the internet about taking ashes specifically to Tahiti.
Hi there,
my question is simple, can I take only euros to PNG or, as it looks like, will I have to exchange in advance all my euros for dollars at home before flying?
Thanks a lot and greets,
Iker
Hi all,
I'm going to be in Fiji for a few weeks and thought that whilst there, I might as well make trips to some of the other island-countries in the vicinity. Tonga definitely appeals, so I'll definitely head there. But I'm trying to decide which other countries to visit. I'm not into beaches per se, so am not fussed about seeing that sort of thing.
As an approximation, which countries are more backpacker-price friendly? For examply, in Fiji, it's not so difficult to find a bed for…
