Hi folks,
I was thinking of going to catch a flight to Samoa for holidays but after checking flights I realized that I've always been dreaming about go to Papua New Guinea, just that the unstable and unsecured condition made me hesitate. At the moment while I'm in Christchurch been working four months why not take the chance to see this isolated mysterious wild tropical Island with so many interesting stories behind it. once I'm back in Europe again things will change and might not be back in the pacific for quite a while so I would rather take the chance while it's there.
I have been abroad for 3 and half year been visit other less touristic countries such as Pakistan and Palestine where also immigration advised the public to avoid for safety reasons which new Zealand government warns at the moment about the crime scene in PNG right now

Anyone here live/been there or planning go there soon?
How much in NZ dollars would I need to get to see as much I Can within a month on a low budget living?
I would prefer to get the local feeling and yes, I am willing to get dirty and not have a shower for a week but wouldn't be too excited about eating humans but might give it a go.
I'm already quite used to stay with locals in a several undeveloped countries with a strong culture as well such as Pakistan, India, Tibet and Palestine but nothing similar to PNG so far... so what's the best way to get around and yes, I'm willing to take risks.! hopefully I wont get killed ;)
Safe travels
Chris
