Hello all
Im flying into Nadi on my way back from the states. I will be there early December and flying out before xmas (so 3 weeks).
My plans are to go to Yasawa for up to a week. Then I want to head to another island and then to somewhere on the mainland (something like that). I want to split the holiday into 3 sections. Whats a recommended route ?
Ive read a lot about this Octapus place, sounds good. Would it be good for a solo traveller?
Unfortunately the beachcombers is shut between these dates as I just found out. Octapus is hard to book into so now Im back to square 1.
I want good accomodation but somewhere where theres lots of backpackers and solo party animals. Somwewhere near the good bars.
What part of Yasawa island is the best for this? It looks quite big on the map.
How much time do you recommend in Yasawa, would a week be enough?
Where else is good in fiji for meeting other backpackers and having fun.
Im after a basic itinary with 3 stops that includes Yasawa. Names of recommneded hotels/accomodationwould be nice too.
Cheers

Try for Mango Bay Resort between Siatoka and Pacific Harbour (Coral Coast)- have never been there myself, but met the owners who gave a good impression. They offer a mango party for "new year". Resort is relatively new.

Octopus is good, but more the family place and quiet, not neccesarily the best place if you want to meet alot of other people, but of course depends on who's there at the same time.
I would go to the coral coast for a few nights and of course to the yasawas. There are no good bars in the yasawas in the sense you mean. There's only resorts on the islands and they usually only have one bar each. At many of them there's only one bar at one island. Beachcomber sounds like just the place for you but since its closed manta ray is a very good choice in the yasawas. Good food and nice fasilities and usually a good crowd. Buy a bula pass to travel the yasawas, that way you book one night one place then talk to people you meet and go somewhere they recommend.
Places to stay in Nadi, I'd recommend the nadi bay resort or nomads skylodge.
Have fun
