Hi all,
We are starting to plan our honeymoon in mid-August, 2008. Bora Bora is certainly on the list but I think we'd struggle to spend more than one week on a beach. We've got 3 weeks to travel in but would like to incorporate Bora Bora but would also like to do get some "doing stuff" bits in before or after the "chill-out" bit. Has anyone got any ideas about which countries might be good at that time of year and don't take days to get to? Also, any good stories about what is cool and what is not-so-cool in those places would be good. Everything's in the early stages at the moment but my future wife has got her heart set on Bora Bora!
Any advice would be gratefully received!
Cheers.

There are other islands in French Polynesia to explore besides Bora Bora. Not sure what "stuff" you want to be doing.
The next door country to FP is the Cook Islands which is same, same but different. You can also fly to Easter Island and New Caledonia from Tahiti.
Otherwise it will be summer in the U.S. and Japan and winter in Australia and New Zealand. And that covers the places with direct flights to FP.
