Fiji-Blue lagoon Day trip? Is it possible

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

We are heading to Fiji for a week, staying in Nadi, is it possible to do a day trip to Blue Lagoon for some snorkelling from Denaru? If so, is it cheaper to fly or via boat? Any other suggestions on things to do, we have only booked to do Naihehe cave tour & are looking at doing the Zipline adventure.

Thanks

Not possible by boat. Perhaps Turtle Airways would fly you out there and back on the same day, but it would be expensive and stupid. There's just as good snorkelling much closer to Nadi, accessible by boat. I don't know what those fake mega-resorts on Denaru would offer, but if you go to the Awesome Adventures/South Sea Cruises offices they're bound to have some suitable day trip options.

Where will you be staying. Nahehe Caves are in Sigatoka 1hr from Pacific harbour where I live and Zipline is 15mins from where I live. We also have snorking on Bega Lagoon. If your'e interested in accommadation down this way let me know via PM.

"Not possible by boat. "
The Yasawa Flyer leaves Denerau at 8.30am and gets to Nacula (near the Blue Lagoon) at 1pm . It then leaves to go back to Denerau minutes later.

I guess you COULD take the plane one way and boat the other but would be pointless (and tiring)

Thanx for the advice, have got all accomodation booked & can't wait to get there.

It s too far to go for something that is just another nice place to have fun in fiji, its good if you are staying close, but not that good its unmissable. the best snorkelling is still a way up on the Yellow Boat is to be found on Mantaray island, so that would be an option but youd only have 3 or 4 hours after arrival until the boat returns in the arvo on its homeward leg. Wouldnt be a bad day trip actually, as youd see the other islands and enjoy Mantaray and lunch there then returning. Staying there or other places off the mainland is the way to go I've found.
