Arriving in Nadi for 48hrs, whats a day trip we can do to see some beautiful beaches/go snorkeling/see a waterfall... anything?? I know its not much time, is it even worth trying to do a day trip to one of the nearby islands?
Fly into Nadi at 3 pm and looking to head straight out to Waya Island (Octopus resort)
Is the only way through Flyer departing Denaru at 8.30 am in morning and return at 6pm??
Know of any other options?
Hello, in which Islands in Fiji, the Yasawas and others are resorts, guesthouses and others, where it is possible to camp with your own tent. We hear, that there are many places, but if you now a good place, please give us recommendation.
Thank you Dieter
Hi Everyone,
I am heading to Fiji in the middle of May for 18 days, having never been, does anyone forsee a problem with this itinerary:
5 nights on mainland (rafting, waterfalls, hot pools, markets, village visits)
3 nights Robinson Crusoe Island
3 nights Octopus Resort
2 nights Manta Ray Island (hopefully to see some)
4 nights on Nanuya island
1 night back in Nadi for a flight the next day
It seems to me like I can catch the Yasawa Flyer between all these places.
My wife and I would like to spend February and March in the South Pacific. We'd like to try a resort in the Yasawas, but it's too expensive to stay there for the entire time. We are thinking we should stay at the resort for a week or 2, and then find a vacation rental or similar type of accommodation that will allow us to stay for 6 or 7 more weeks at a lower rate. Where would you suggest we look for this type of longer-term accommodation? It sounds like the Yasawas or Mamanucas are a good…
Hi, have trawled through the posts and Mama's is booked out for the dates I will be in Nadi. Basically am looking for comfy low-mid priced accomodation in Nadi for my overnight stay on my way to and returning from my Yasawa Island adventure (so obvioulsy closer to the airport and the Yasawa Flyer Marina). I'll be on my honeymoon, so nothing too cheap and nasty but nothing too resorty as we'll only be stopping over there. Oh and good food is a must!!
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Hi all,
Just a word of warning after a recent experience I had in renting a car from Nadi airport. After emailing around the various car companies to get quotes for a 3 day hire from Nadi airport (we were traveling in a group of 4 to Nananu-I-Ra), I decided to go with Sharmas car hire, as they offered the cheapest hire at the airport (240 FJD for 3 days). I emailed the office back to confirm our booking for 3 days, and got a reply saying that the booking was indeed confirmed. However, upon…
Hi.
First time posting to Thorn Tree...have read on this site before and hoping for some more great advice! I am going to Fiji at the end of February and am booked at the Octopus for 4 nights. However, I have a day or two in Nadi to spare surrounding my flights and I, being the extensive researcher, am stuck between these three options. I prefer to do it myself to save money (as opposed to booking a tour). Any advice?

Hi Travellers,
Am planning a very last minute honeymoon in early March and am interested in the Yasawa region of Fiji (had heard it is least affected by the wet season... True??). Initially had gone through travel agents but they keep giving me ridiculously lavish travel options, we have a smallish budget and I just wanted some accomodation tips in this region, had a look at the Octopus Resort and looks quite nice and reasonably priced, are there any other suggestions for mid range comfortable…
I was just about to book a flight to Indonesia, (my favorite chill-out place), but then stumbled upon some very enticing posts about Caqalai, in Fiji.
The accommodation in the Caqalai huts looks very basic, which I'm fine with. I'm wondering though, whether it gets pretty hot and stuffy at nights in the huts, without a fan. (I'm assuming there's no fan!) I'm hoping to go for around 3 months, from April to July. Is there a bit of a sea breeze that kicks up at night to cool things down?
Is…
