Hi I am going to be in Fiji in a couple of weeks time for 5 days.
I am going to be by myself and am looking for recommendation of places to stay which will be easy to meet people and close to the beach. The previous weeks will have been pretty full on so i except i will be looking to party at night and lie on the beach during the day.
My budget isn't massive so i'd love to find a suitable hostel for $20 a night.

I think you are out of luck and will have to fork out more.
The main area to do what you want would be the Yasawas and certain islands in the Mamanucas notably Beachcomber, but these places tend to cost more than what you quoted.
Ironically, in Fiji most backpackers seem to frequent these relatively more expensive spots - the cheaper places are mostly on the mainland of Viti Lavu, where some places along the Coral Coast might also suit you if you really want to keep costs (especially transport costs!) down.
