Hey all,

Am thinking about heading across to Fiji from NZ next week, but have been told some horror stories about the weather at this time of year.

I've had a good look around various sites, and climate charts, but would rather go off someone in the know's advice.

If I do go it will only be for a week, so what do you reckon. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

We never consider the weather when booking for Fiji and have never had a problem in the Mamanuca's .
Taveuni is another story thought.

Weather on the Western side - especially offshore islands, Mamanucas and Yasawas - will usually be drier.

Its hard to say what the weather will be like. The thing with Fiji is if you are experiencing bad weather, drive somewhere for an hour or two and you will have sunshine. You can have storms on the islands and head into Viti and find perfect weather,, visa versa as well.

If you want to come to fiji then come.

We go every 10 weeks or so for a week, you can never pick it.. November 08 was the best weather I have seen, perfect nights with sunny warm days. Every other time it has been beautiful in the morning, overcast or storming in the afternoon. Some times it can be overcast for days with drizzle but stinking heat.

The great thing about Fiji is if you experience off weather,, it gives you the opportunity to get out an about and experience other things other than swimming and snorkling.

Enjoy :-)

I spent last xmas in Fiji and it was a mixed bag really. Would rain one day then a couple of days of sunshine etc. It really did not make much of a difference as it would pass and it is an experience watching a thunder storm on a small island. If i remember correctly the shower would only last a Hr or so then clear up.
