Hi There,

I am thinking about planning a trip to Fiji with my boyfriend later in the year.

Last time I went to Fiji with my girlfriend we did the yasawas with a bula pass/awesome adventures. It was OK but the accommodation was pretty basic and we didn't do a lot of good snorkelling.

This time we'd be prepared to pay up to $80 - 90 a night (Australian) for decent couples/accommodation but we want to go somewhere not overly busy/touristy but with excellent snorkelling. Any ideas? Suggestions? We're not into party islands!

Thanks in advance!

Bec

If you're looking to do the Yasawas again, the new Blue Lagoon Beach Resort is fab. I doubt you'll find an unfavourable review of it anywhere. Definitely was the highlight of my time in Fiji.

Great beach and good snorkelling, regardless of the tide.

Donuts? I told you I don't like ethnic food!

Bula. Ive just returned from a 2 nights 3 days trip to the Yasawas on a Blue Lagoon Cruise. Absolutely wonderful. Cost my friend and I $F615 AU$515 for 5 fabulous meals a day, one night free champagne for a couple of hours, great snorkelling and great beach. Cabins very clean and comfortable. BBQ night on the beach. Village tour and Kava ceromony. Wonderful staff. Best holiday I've had for a long while.
If you consider travelling further down to Pacific Harbour on the Coral Coast contact me on private message as I do a B/B. Hope you find something that suits you.

my suggestion would be

http://www.fijihomestays.com/lawaki_beach_house_beqa_island_fiji.htm

or

http://www.surfingfiji.com/index.html

both do not cost an earth to get to like the Yasawa Islands and are very easy to get to and the snorkeling in the Beqa Lagoon is great.

Also have a look at http://www.royaldavui.com/index.html it is very expensive but is just off shore from Lawaki Beach House.

I have been researching a few spots recently (living in Lautoka for the last few weeks).
Couple of locals recommended this. http://www.tovutovu.com/villageresort.html Well within your budget.
Get there by overnight ferry from Suva. http://www.blighwatershipping.com.fj/index.php from A$40

Cheers,
Peter
