Hello, my names Jake 28 from the UK. My and my girlfriend have our WHV all sorted out and we’re ready to go Sydney in December just in time for Christmas. I’m hoping that while I’m over there that I will be able to gain sponsorship by an employer ... now here’s where is gets tricky...

I’ve been in my occupation for 10 years but there is no formal qualification for what I do apart from various city & guild training courses which I do have. On the 1st Aug 2018 NSW put a new legislation in place…

Dear all, we are planning a trip in late September to Northern Australia. Renting a van in Darwin, driving to Kakadu to spend 5 days and then we'd like to continue driving to visit another park. Thought of doing Litchfield for two days. I have the itineraries more or less figured out and the rest of the specifics.
1. Will it be possible to swim in the pools in Kakadu or will they have dried out by this time of the season?
2. Would you recommend somewhere else besides Litchfield?

Thank you for…

We will be traveling to NZ for our December holiday. We are a family of 4 with two kiddos who will be 6&9 around the time of our trip. As our days our numbered, I'm doing the best I can to include sites. Am I missing anything? We are doing a car rental and ari bnb's in most cases.

Day 1 - arrive Auckland, transfer to Raglan
Day 2 - surf lessons
Day 3 - Waitomo Caves (the kids will love), and transfer to Rotorua
Day 4 - everything geothermal and Maori
Day 5 - Transfer to Wellington via Taupo
Day 6 -…

Hi,

I’m looking to commence a WHV in March 2019, my passport is due to expire in June 2020. Would I need to renew before I went so as to have 6 months left when I depart Aus or would it be possible to renew when I’m over there? I will potentially look to do farm work and stay for two years too.

I’m from the UK.

Help! My sister is moving to Melbourne so we are going to visit over Xmas and New Year. All I know is that we want to spend Xmas in Melbourne with her and then NY in Sydney. We aren’t flying back until the 14th Jan. We are on a fairly tight budget but happy to hire a car or get an internal flight if required. Thanks in advance :)

Has anyone stayed here? The rooms state they have an 'open-plan' bathroom. Doesn't sound very appealing!
Any info would be great.
TIA

Afternoon lads and ladies!

I’m here in Australia currently on working holiday visa. I’ve been here since May, spent my first two weeks in surfers paradise then went straight out to work and complete my 88 days .

The problem I’ve had is, I’m already on my 6th employer here because there either idiots and treat me like a damn slave. Pay me very little money . Promise Monday to Friday 8 hours a day and weekend work then after the first week it’s like 2 days a week ? . Then it means all the money…

Hi LP's!
I was hoping you could let me know if my very tight road trip schedule covers all the must sees on the East Coast? Anything I should remove? or add? Or spend more time at? To give some context, this will be a trip that will focus mainly on beaches, nightlife, and food!

SYDNEY 2 FULL DAYS, 2 NIGHTS (fly to Byron Bay)
BYRON BAY 2 FULL DAYS, 2 NIGHS
GOLD COAST 1 FULL DAY, 1 NIGHT
NOOSA HALF DAY, 1 NIGHT
FRASER ISLAND 2.5 DAYS, 3 NIGHTS
WHITSUNDAYS 2 DAYS, 3 NIGHTS
TOWNSVILLE 1 DAY, 1 NIGHT (fly…

Hey Thorn Tree: hoping to pick your brains on something. We're four adults and a baby who will visiting Jervis Bay in early September. After that, we have about 4-5 days to kill before we need to get back to Sydney to catch our international flight home. We were originally planning to rent a camper van and do some roadtripping/camping during those four days, perhaps to Budawang National Park or Blue Mountains, but now we're not quite sure where to go, given the ongoing bushfires.

Any advice…

Hello!

I'm a dual citizen (American/Canadian) and currently I'm applying for an Australian Working Holiday visa (417). I'm applying under my Canadian passport because 1) it's easier, 2) my American passport expires soon, and 3) because I'm in the UK right now on a working holiday visa under my Canadian passport.

On the application this question came up:

"In the last 5 years, have you visited, or lived, outside CANADA for more than 3 consecutive months (other than Australia)?"

Originally I…
