I have just spent 15 months living in the UK, and now I am returning to NZ. Before arriving in NZ, I want to backpack round Europe first.
Obviously, I can't fit all of my personal belongings in a backpack, so I have organised to have my suitcase sent back separately.
Has anyone else done this before??
I have heard that my personal belongings may inquire duty and customs fees? Which sounds absurd as I wouldn't be charged if I was arriving on a plane with my suitcase.
I have read all the info on NZ…
Hi! Im travelling alone to New Zealand on the 28th August on a working holiday visa. I have already spent the past two years in Australia on a working holiday visa which was amazing. I travelled and lived in Australia with my boyfriend but unfortunately we are no longer together and I'm hoping to speak to some people in New Zealand before I arrive as I'm extremely nervous about doing it alone :( I've never been to NZ but I've heard amazing things. I think once I get there I will do a bus tour…
Hello, in the middle of August we (middle-aged couple) plan to visit Australia and to travel by car on the route along the coast from Melbourne to Brisbane. We have 6-7days. I would be grateful for any piece of advice like: what is worth visiting (besides the cities - we have extra time to visit Mel. Syd., Bris.), where should we stay overnight, or simply if the plan is real. Any tips on car rental, insurance, etc. welcome.
Thank you
Michal
I am thinking of doing a road trip from Perth to Broome over Xmas this year. However I would like to hear first hand experience of how WET the wet season in Broome is likely to be at that time of year.
All help greatly appreciated.
Our Canadian family of four (kids ages 9 & 7) will be spending 5 months in Oz from mid-Octoberto mid-March. We will start in Cairns and work our way down east coast. Hubby & I are PADI certified divers and want to do a couple dives (prefer non-bleached areas & hubby wants to get night diving certification). Kids are keen swimmers and want to hit good snorkeling areas with them. Open to multi-day trip to get us out to "better" areas if that helps? Likely we'd want to do this in November or early…
I'm unexpectedly planning a trip to NZ. My brother lives out there and is seriously ill. I have a month to get things together. I have never been and will be going alone (from the UK), which is a little scary.
I understand I don't need a visa. Will I be able to use my debit cards ok when out there? Any idea of a good amount of cash to take with me? Also will my phone work ok. Or do I need to sort something out when I arrive? Sorry for all the questions . I'm grateful for any advice. Thank you.

Hey guys!
I'm from England and have recently moved to Melbourne, I will be staying here for 6 months before travelling. If anybody wants to hang out, maybe grab a few drinks or go on a road trip drop me a message :-)
Hi all,
I recently entered Sydney on a student e-visa using a non-biometric Indian passport. I was not stamped by the immigration officer, upon my asking she said that there is no need. Can I get a departure stamp when I leave Australia? I may need proof of travel for the future.
Secondly, maybe I'm being paranoid, but when I was clearing customs and was directed by the customs agent to a certain counter, I thought I was following the path to the counter but happened to just exit the customs…
Hi all!
I'm off to Australia for a year very very soon... I'm just thinking about transport and how to get around to see all the beaut and hidden places!
Lots of friends have recommended buying a car.. is this a good idea? I have a full UK license can I use this? Do I need to bring it with me? And what paperwork is involved?
If anyone could help that would be fab :)
