I will be arriving in Alice Springs on 19th Feb and will be looking to do a 3 day tour to Uluru, Kings Canyon and the Olgas. Should I book something beforehand or just check out the options when I get there? I'm short of time and can't afford to hang around in Alice too long.

You should be able to arrive one day & take the trip the next.

Yes ... if you stay at Annie's Place, you can book a Mulga Tour on arrival for the next morning (about 0630 departure I think). If you stay at YHA (see their website), or even Melanka Lodge, they will have similar deals, but check. Alice won't be that busy - February is high summer. Take a hat, water bottle (freeze it overnight), sunscreen, and insect repellant. All good.

Depends on your needs - Mulga's is described as basic backpacker level - spend a bit more and you'll get more. There are a lot of alternatives on offer.
