Hi guys, I'm flying into Auckland on the 25th april and will be in NZ till the 6th May. Been in melbourne for 2 months and am I'm looking to see if there are any other single travellers who would like to buddy up. I'm keen to get out on a few boat trips, maybe swim with dolphins, get over to waiheke and round to the coromandel. Also, keen to hear from anyone about must-see and must-do things in and around Auckland. Lastly, would people recommend I hire a car for the trip, or will I be ok getting around the North of the island by public transport. Seems like the best sights might be easier and quicker to get to by car. Anthony
25 April is Anzac Day and a public holiday, keep your eyes peeled for how that might affect what you are doing either leaving Melbourne or arriving into Auckland in terms of opening hours, public services or road closures. A car is usually more convenient outside big cities or travelling beyond big towns. Things to do in Auckland will require an idea of your interests or you could pick up a guidebook to provide you with general info for a general answer to a general question. | 1
Anzac Day in NZ is observed. Almost everything commercial cant open before midday with the full day as a public holiday. Transport direct to the city should be as normal though. | 2
Awesome - cheers westwood. | 3
Another quick question - will the weather be warm enough for beach activities and water sports at the end of April/start of May Read online that average temps in April are 20oC, dropping to 12oC in May | 4
It should still be ok, certainly wont be warm though lol | 5
