hello there, ive been on a working holiday in nz last year, i got screwed by the cops a few times for driving too SLOW hahaha and not being buckled up, anyway i didnt have the money to pay it, so i sold the car and left the country, what i wouldve done anyway.... i am planning on going on a working holiday in australia in summer and now im a bit worried if this could affect my visa eligibility ??? i know that oz and nz are quite talkative which each other. i am from europe and i travelled round here quite a bit this year (incl. the Uk several times) and there seems no such thing as a outstanding traffic fine or anything to be connected with my passport(which i have to renew this week) can anyone help me?
Since you now have the money to be able to go traveling again, why not pay the fines and be worry free?
Nevertheless, Australia won't care about some old tickets in NZ.
agree with the others - pay the fines and you won't have to worry about the time you may wish to go back to NZ for any reason.
I sold the car
So why didn't you pay the fines with the money then?
I got screwed by the cops a few times.....hahaha
Hope you are going to show more respect for our laws than New Zealand's.
Im a bit worried....
Good, maybe you are growing up.

cant i just get a normal answer? im going back to nz anyway after australia, so i would have to pay it, one way or the other.. all i wanted to know is if the unpaid traffic fines from the NZ police could have any impact on my WHV in OZ? if youre just here to tell me how much of a unmature person i am because i did not pay and ran away, then please dont bother answering.

If you did a search here, you'd know how we all feel about tourists not wanting to take responsibility for fines. Just because its not their country of permanent residence, they dont seem to care.
I'd be making arrangements to pay the fine asap. As I said, they dont go away. If unpaid within 3 months (cant remember exactly), it will go before the courts regardless of you being there or not and then the fun starts.

the last thing i heard of them was a letter saying something about seizing my car or some stuff like that and the entire fine-story happend almost one year ago, so i guess its already been to court.... even tho i didnt hear from them for about 7 months now
They definately have a much easier access to NZ police records and vice versa. NZer's in general can come to australia freely, but any police offences denies them the "automatic" right of coming to australia. and I know of at least one person denied access to NZ, due to a DUI offence. whether some unpaid speeding fines etc will cause a problem.... maybe. Given you want a WHV and not just a standard ETA then it could be an issue as i'm certain they ask you questions about police and criminal activity.
