North of Cairns

Hi All
Looking for reasonable 3/4 star accom in mid August, maybe self contained apartment at some nice beaches north of Cairns, maybe Yorkeys, Port Douglas, Trinity, prefer not too over crowded but realise that this is high season,any recommendations would be great, up to about $150.00aus per night, also cheaper car hire & costs, not the big 4 car companies.

Palm Cove has a lot of 3-4 star accomm as well, and it's a nice beachfront - but Trinity and Port Douglas are rewarding too. A little further and there is a good selection in the Daintree region - eco-lodges and luxury in the rainforest stuff. Can't assist with specific properties however.

If you can wait to book until a month before, look at some of the last minute sites, like www.wotif.com.au.<BR><BR>Although it's high season, anywhere that isn't full may still be advertising discounts. I like Port Douglas - should be plenty in that price range.
