Ideas for a month and half of travel?Country forums / Australia, New Zealand & Antarctica / New Zealand
Hi all, I am working on a plan to travel to New Zealand for a month and a half. This is the second half of my three months of travel. I plan to arrive the middle of October and stay till the end of November. I am looking for any recommendations on how to travel through the country. I plan to start in Christchurch and head south for a bit then make my way up to the north as well. If anyone has a suggestion on the order of places I should see that would be greatly helpful.
Assuming 6 weeks - that would work out to about 4 weeks for a loop of the SI and 2 weeks for a one way trip from WLG to AKL. | 1
A guide book could be a good starting point. Have a look at some LP put out both as ebooks and as hard copies. There is also a Destinations tab here on this site. | 2
I spent a gap year a while ago and had a fantastic time and as have suggested, using a Ho-Ho bus pass is a great idea and is pretty economical. However, I made friends with someone who had hired a car over there; if you have the budget, then this can be a great way to see the country. | 3
